Oct. 21

The regular monthly meeting of the Msgr. W.E. Young Assembly of the Knights of Columbus will be held in Yarmouth Oct. 21 at the K of C hall at 7 p.m.

There will be an emergency meeting of the Plymouth hall at the hall on Thursday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. All residents are encouraged to attend.

School advisory council meeting

Oct. 23

The Yarmouth Consolidated Memorial High School is looking for two community members and one parent to join the school advisory council. The next meeting will be held Oct. 23 at 6:30. If interested call the school at 902-749-5803.

Fundraiser

Oct. 23

A Halloween family fun-d-raiser will be held at Meadowfields Elementary School Oct. 23 from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Bouncy castles, games, prizes and dances. For the whole family. Free admission.

Haunted courthouse

Oct. 24

On Oct. 24, a haunted courthouse will be held at Argyle Township Court House Archives in Tusket from 7-8 p.m. for ages 12 and younger. Free treat bags. For more information contact the Argyle recreation department at 902-648-3379.”

The annual harvest supper will be held at the Greenville Community Centre, Oct. 25 from 4-7 p.m. Corned beef and cabbage. Cost $10 per plate. Pay at the door. Eat in or take out.





Halloween dance

There will be a Halloween dance with the Grinders at Le Club Acadien, Saturday, Oct. 25. Prizes for best costumes. $10 per person, advance; $12 at the door. Info: 902-648-2203.

There will be a benefit for Stanley Davis at the Wedgeport Legion Saturday, Oct. 25, for members and guests 19 and over. Rappie pie sale at 4 p.m. with silent auction and Halloween dance to follow at 9 p.m. Info: 902-663-2959.

Seniors’ expo

Turkey supper

There will be a turkey supper at the Kemptville fire hall on Oct. 25 from 4:30-6. $10 adults $3 for those under 12.

Concert

There will be a concert featuring the Crowells, the Greens Clear Water and the Martinellis at the Port Maitland School gym on Oct. 25 from 7-9 p.m. Good will offering.

Fundraiser

There will be a stampin’ up charity fundraiser at Camp Peniel on Oct. 25 from 9 until 4. $25, bring a bag lunch. Register by calling the camp: 902-649-2471.

Breakfast

Oct. 26

The Knights of Columbus breakfast will be held at the Yarmouth K of C hall Oct. 26 Due to rising costs the breakfasts are no longer free will offerings. Prices are now $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Jack-o-lantern parade

Oct. 27

The 4th annual Jack-o-Lantern parade will be held Monday, Oct. 27. Gather at 6:30 p.m. at the Visitor Information Centre corner of Main and Forest streets.

Dress up and bring flashlights and jack-o-lanterns (wagons are permitted.) Participants will walk down Main Street, turn up Collins and end at the Central School sports field. Following the parade there will be treat bags for the kids and hot apple cider. Ian White from Western Counties Regional Library will tell ghost stories. Parents must accompany children and light-coloured clothing or something bright should be worn for safety. Dress warmly as all activities will be outside. There will be a meeting of the Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Support Group at Beacon Church parlour on Monday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m. Guest speakers Shelley Goodwin and Heather Hatfield. Halloween carnival

The Early Childhood Awareness Network is having its 6th Annual Halloween Carnival at the Burridge Campus gymnasium on Nov. 1 from 2-4 p.m. Parents and children can pick up an empty treat bag at the door of the NSCC gym and then trick or treat through the booths. There will be activities, games,

ELF program

Tuesdays

The Baby and Me peer support group meets Tuesday mornings, 10 - 11:30, at Yarmouth Superstore’s community room. All infants with their parents and/or grandparents, as well as pregnant women, are welcome. Peer breastfeeding support is also available. Further info: 902-742-7141.
