Old pumper finds new home
Last fall, Westport Fire Department invested in a new—secondhand—pumper.They subsequenty offered their fire truck for sale, but without generating any great interest.


That’s why, when Deputy Fire Chief Wally Devries encountered a fire department “even worse off than we are" on a trip to Nfld. this summer, he returned with an idea.

His colleagues agreed—donating the old pumper to that Nfld. Fire Department made good sense.

The truck was exactly what they needed, the price was perfect, and even the paint job worked: Westport was also the name of their community.
