West Pubnico receives funding for fire department, wharf and tourism development

MLA Chris d’Entremont has announced provincial funding for three projects in the West Pubnico area.



The West Pubnico Fire Department will receive $35,160 for new equipment and building upgrades through the Emergency Services Provider Fund program.



The Emergency Services Provider Fund began as a $5 million investment over a year ago, but due to high demand, the MacDonald government has more than doubled it to almost $12 million.



“This fund has provided equipment and facilities upgrades to 233 communities across Nova Scotia,” said d’Entremont. “It is a much deserved investment in our first responders and volunteer firefighters.”



The Progressive Conservative MLA also announced $15,000 in funding for the development of the Transom Stern Boat project at Le Village Historique Acadien de la Nouvelle-Ecosse.



The funding for this tourism development initiative comes from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage.



The Department of Tourism, Culture and Heritage will also provide $7,500 towards the installation of interpretive panels at Dennis Point Wharf, the location of the announcements.
