Queens Health Board events
Events hosted by the Queens Community Health Board in celebration of Community Health Board Week Sept. 27-to-Oct. 4 are free and open to the general public.
1 - A Family Fun Day will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 27 in Privateer Park to celebrate the work of the Queens Community Health Board. Come and sample some exciting new physical activity opportunities (dance, badminton, fitness, skipping, croquet); walk the Trestle Trail and enter to win great prizes; enjoy a local corn boil; and learn about the role of the Community Health Board. 2 - A VON Easy Movers Exercise Class runs from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Oct. 1 at Milton Memorial Hall.

Easy Movers is an exercise program for the young at heart promoting both physical health and well-being. It is also an opportunity to meet new friends and socialize. For this week only, take part in the Easy Movers Class for free. Drop-ins are welcome and no registration is required. For more information, call the VON at 354-3297.

3 - A VON Hips and Knees Exercise Class is 10:30-11:15 a.m. Oct. 1 at Milton Memorial Hall.

Hips and Knees is an exercise program designed to provide strengthening exercise, with a focus on the hips and knees. It is also an opportunity to meet new friends and socialize. For this week only, take part in the Hips and Knees Class for free. Drop-ins are welcome and registration isn’t required. For more information, call the VON at 354-3297.

4 - Easing into Exercise is 7-8 p.m. Oct. 1 at a to-be-announced location.

Ever wonder how to get started on a new exercise routine? Join Lisa Gallant, Fitness Instructor, for an Easing into Exercise Class. Lisa will present simple techniques for incorporating physical activity into your daily routine. She will also answer any questions about starting a new exercise plan. This session will involve exercise so please dress appropriately. No registration required. For more information, call 354-5508.

5 - Morning Fitness Class is Oct. 3 from 9:15-10:30 a.m. Oct. 3 at the Greenfield Recreation Centre Gymnasium.

Do you live in the Greenfield area and want to get more physically activity? Always wanted to try a fitness class but didn’t want to get stuck with the bill if you didn’t like it? Join fitness instructor, Bonnie Ramey for a morning of fun and fitness. People of all fitness levels are invited to take part. Please bring indoor sneakers, water and wear comfortable clothing.
