African Nova Scotian Parent Conference/Youth Forum
On Sept. 26 and 27, the African Nova Scotian parent conference and youth forum will be held at the Pines, Digby.
Sessions will include:
- A full day workshop addressing the role black males in today’s society.
- ‘White parent/black child,’ a workshop that shares the experiences of a white parent of a black chld.
- A panel discussion exploring African Nova Scotian economic development
- ‘Post traumatic slavery discorder’, a Saturday morning workshop led by Dr. Raymond Winbush.
- ‘Ethnical Parenting’ focusing on the need for parents to take control and establish standards for behavior.
