The Terry Fox Run will be held in Liverpool and Kejimkujik National Park 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Registration will take place at the Liverpool Royal Canadian Legion, beginning at 1 p.m. Participants will begin their run, walk or bike around the Trestle Trail at 1:30 p.m. The Kejimkujik run is at the Visitors Centre.
"Every year the money raised through the Terry Fox Run bring us closer to Terry's dream of finding a cure for cancer," says Liverpool Run organizer Robin Anthony. She noted the Liverpool event includes participants who haven't missed a Run since it began in 1981 and families who return each year to pledge their support. There are also people who are not able to complete the walk but who come to honour Terry's legacy with a donation to this important cause.
Since 1981, the Terry Fox Run has raised more than $400-million worldwide for cancer research.
The Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive event and individuals, families and groups are welcome to enjoy the activity at their own pace, whether that's a slow stroll or a lively jog. There is no entry fee and no prizes, but every participant receives a certificate of appreciation and refreshments are available after the Run. Terry Fox T-shirts will be available for sale and entrants can turn in their completed pledge sheets or make a donation at the registration table. Pledge sheets can be downloaded at
