The Dartmouth Moosehead Dry are back in their NSSBL semifinal series with the Kentville Wildcats after scoring a 4-2 win in game three Tuesday evening in Dartmouth.
Dartmouth’s Jason Bailey evened the score with Kentville’s Curtis Falls in a rematch of the game one starters, notching a complete game win with 11 strikeouts.
Falls, who went seven innings, combining with Pete Sonier on a six-hitter, took the loss.
Kentville didn’t have the same success as in the first two games of the series turning its hits into runs. The Wildcats had 10 hits off Bailey, but could score just two runs, one in the fourth and one in the sixth.
Dartmouth, on the other hand, scored twice in the first inning, made it 3-0 in the third and never trailed the entire contest. Both teams committed one error.
Ian Lockhart had a single and double for the Wildcats, Jeff Lockhart doubled and singled and Kevin Benjamin chipped in a pair of singles. Matt Thomas had a pair of singles for Dartmouth, and Darren Doucette and Randy Stewart both had RBI singles.
Game four of the series is set for tonight at 7:30 at Memorial Park (weather permitting), with the Wildcats looking to take a three-games-to-one lead and Dartmouth trying to even the series at two games apiece.
Game five is Friday evening in Dartmouth, with game six Saturday at 7:30 in Kentville and game seven (if required) Sunday evening at 7 back in Dartmouth.
