Drugs, disturbances, accidents keep Annapolis RCMP busy

Annapolis RCMP had a busy week September 1 to September 9 with a total of 91 calls including one drug bust and an assortment of threats, assaults, accidents, and one disturbance in Middleton that resulted in the arrests of two women.

The police dealt with six motor vehicle accidents, five false alarms, five false 911s, and three domestic situations. Following are highlights of the week:

-- Sept. 1, 1:35 a.m. Highway 101 near Exit 19 Lawrencetown. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. Police located the vehicle to discover the driver hadn't been drinking but was tired.

-- Sept.1, 8:09 a.m. Upper Clements. Police received a report of graffiti.

-- Sept. 1, 1:27 p.m. Bridgetown. Report received a report of graffiti, the most prominent of which was on a town business.

-- Sept. 1, 8:18 p.m. Nictaux. Police received a report of threats. The parties involved were known to each other.

-- Sept. 2, 12:33 a.m. Lequille. Police received a report that threats had been made.

-- Sept. 2, 11:01 a.m. Middleton. Police received a complaint of dump trucks speeding on Bridge Street. The caller said it has been an ongoing situation.

-- Sept. 2, 4:44 p.m. Torbrook. Police received a report of criminal harassment.

-- Sept. 2, 7:15 p.m. Middleton. Police were called about a break and enter into resident. Police investigated and deemed the claim to be unfounded.

-- Sept. 2, 5:37 p.m. Centrelea. Police responded to a single vehicle accident. The vehicle left the road and hit a pole. There were no injuries.

-- Sept. 2, 9 a.m. Bridgetown. A citizen turned in money they found on a sidewalk in Bridgetown.

-- Sept. 2, 7:47 p.m. Highway 101 Middleton. Police responded to a two-vehicle accident in which a van and car collided in a construction zone area. There were no injuries but both vehicles had to be towed.

-- Sept. 3, 1:24 a.m. Middleton. Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision on Main Street. One vehicle rear-ended the other. There were no injuries.

-- Sept. 3, 1:23 a.m. Meadowvale. A noise complaint was reported. The caller was bothered by load music. Police checked it out and issued a warning. The music was turned down.

-- Sept. 3, 4:58 p.m. Bridgetown. A business in Bridgetown reported receiving what they believed was a counterfeit $20. Police are checking on its authenticity.

-- Sept. 3, 8:03 p.m. Lawrencetown. A vehicle was seen tearing around in a cemetery on Carlton Road. Police checked but the vehicle was no longer there.

-- Sept. 4, 9:28 a.m. Lequille. Police received a report of an assault.

-- Sept. 4, 2:43 p.m. Spa Springs. Police received a report of a break and enter into a residence.

-- Sept. 4, 2:50 p.m. Main Street Middleton. Police received a report of a traffic collision. There were no injuries.

-- Sept. 4, 4:13. p.m. Lawrencetown. Police were called about damage to a civic address sign post and other mischief around the property.

-- Sept. 4, 5:42 p.m. No. 8 Highway. A suspicious package was found on the road. It looked like it could have been explosives. An investiagtion revealed it was fire works.

-- Sept. 4, 7:47 p.m. Lawrencetown. Police received a report of a possible impaired driver. The caller supplied the license plate no but the vehicle was not immediately located. Police spoke to the vehicle owner at a later time.

-- Sept. 5, 2:08 a.m. Albany. Police were called about noise problems.

-- Sept. 5, 12:01 p.m. Middleton. Police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle near Middleton Regional High School. Activities were believed to be related to drug trafficking. The vehicle was searched and a quantity of marijuana was seized. Two men were arrested and later released on conditions pending a court appearance.

-- Sept. 5, 5:31 p.m. Lequille. A break and enter into a residence was reported.

-- Sept. 5, 5:47 p.m. Lawrencetown Lane. Police received a complaint that a delivery vehicle damaged steps at a property.

-- Sept. 5, 9:15 p.m. Lawrencetown Lane. Police received a complaint of youth throwing things at vehicles -- possibly apples.

-- Sept. 5, 9:30 p.m. Nictaux. Police responded to a complaint of a disturbance, including yelling and revving vehicles. Police attended and those involved were cooperative.

-- Sept. 5, 10:27 p.m. Waldec. Police received a report of an assault. The parties involved were known to each other.

-- Sept. 6, 12:43 a.m. Middleton. Police were called to a disturbance -- three times. An elderly woman was arrested on the third call when she assaulted a police officer. A second woman was then arrested when she obstructed the first arrest. Both were released at the scene. Police remained nearby and monitored the situation. When the situation escalated yet again, two women were arrested and transported to cells until sober. Charges are pending.

-- Sept. 6, 1:46 a.m. Middleton. Police received a complaint about an intoxicated man passed out in a Middleton business. Police found the man and took him to jail.

-- Sept. 6, 2:02 a.m. West Dalhousie. Police received a report of an assault. One man was arrested and taken into custody. The parties were known to each other.

-- Sept. 6, 7 p.m. Nictaux. Police were called to a disturbance but the trouble maker left before police arrived.

-- Sept. 6, 7:22 p.m. Middleton. Police received a report of a missing seven-year-old.

-- Sept. 6, 8:33 p.m. Wllmot. Police received a complaint of possible impaired river. The suspect vehicle was located and the driver failed a breath test and now faces charges of impaired driving.

-- Sept. 7, 4:51 p.m. Bridgetown. A caller reported the theft of an outboard motor.

-- Sept. 7, 8:47 p.m. Bridgetown. Police received a report of a female making threats. Police spoke to the property owner and determined that a youth was making prank calls to a relative.

-- Sept. 8, 12:39 a.m. Spa Springs. A vehicle was located located partially in the ditch. The driver was arrested and subsequently failed a breath test. The driver was taken into custody and faces drunk driving charges.

-- Sept. 8, 11:48 a.m. Exit 19, Lawrencetown. Police received a report of a two-vehicle accident. A car and dump truck collided. There were no injuries but the car had to be towed.
