Barcode your bike - RCMP

Saturday, Sept. 13 at the RCMP detachment in New Minas, a free bicycle registration will be held.

Cst. Les Kakonyi says the special effort is a result of a number of bike thefts recently in the county.

The event will offer bike owners better identification, including an electronically engraved code.

“Bicycle owners will be able to take a card away with them that will offer a quick reference should anything happen to their bikes,” he said.

The registration will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
