The Acadia Lifelong Learning (ALL) Centre at Acadia University is offering a wide variety of fall courses starting next week.

Dr. Bruce Matthews will present a course on Islam: the Modern World on Monday afternoons and Alan Deacon will take a look at Maud Lewis’s folk paintings.

Nancy Kidston will teach Spanish for travelers in 10 sessions. Agar Adamson will peer into the American election and Mike MacKenzie will sniff out the salty flavour of English.

Dr. Graham Daborn is offering a course on managing Fundy resources, which includes a field trip. Martin Hallet will focus on illustration and children’s books.

Twila Robar-DeCoste has lined up a watercolour course and Cornelius Kampe is presenting six sessions on philosophical thinkers.

A series on wellness will present courses on reflexology, plus art and drama therapy. Dr. Bob Prange will do a seminar Nov. 5 on organic fruits and vegetables.

Canning artist Ron Hayes is offering an acrylic and mixed media course. Peter Riddle is going to examine Broadway and Hollywood.

Sherry Swanburg will present a Pilates course and there are seminars planned on South Asia, genealogy and cycling through New Zealand.

The ALL centre was established in 2000 as a way of sharing the intellectual and cultural resources of Acadia University with the growing population of senior adults. Anyone over the age of 50 can become a member.

Membership allows for credit courses to be audited, library usage and free seminars. Courses are generally offered three times per year during the fall, winter and spring.

ALL classes are held on campus, but also at the Wolfville Public Library, Port Williams Community Centre, ArtCan Gallery, Canning and the Greenwich Community Centre
