The second annual St. Ambrose Church information fair will take place on Saturday, Sept. 13 and Sunday, Sept. 14 following each Mass in the basement of St. Ambrose Church (Jubilee Room). Display tables will be set up with information regarding the various ministries and programs available in the St Ambrose Parish. Refreshments will be available.

Soprano Sally Dibblee and pianist Robert Kortgaard will be performing on Monday, Sept. 15 at the Yarmouth County Museum, 7:30 p.m. presented by Hear!Here! in Yarmouth, a newly formed committee comprising local music lovers who believe people in southwestern Nova Scotia shouldn’t have to travel to enjoy classical musicians in performance. Cemetery Tour

Hazel Trask and Wilfred Allan will be conducting a tour of the Founders and Free Will Baptist Cemeteries in Beaver River. Meet at the Free Will Baptist Cemetery at 4 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Alpha course

Live and Learn Series
Tuesdays
A program for persons living with the effects of stroke, heart attack, angina, TIA and those who are at risk for heart disease and stroke. Four two-hour group education sessions held one afternoon or evening each week over four weeks. Tuesdays: Sept. 30, Oct. 7, Oct. 14, Oct. 21, 2-4 p.m. Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Digby General Hospital and Roseway Hospital. Sessions are broadcast through the Telehealth Network allowing for residents of Yarmouth, Shelburne, and Digby to participate. You must call to register as seating is limited. 902- 742-3542 ext 460.
Caregiver sessions

VON Tri-County will offer a free four- week session entitled “VON Caregiver Education Series at the VON office, 55 Starrs Rd in Yarmouth; Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24. The sessions are 2 hours long. In this series you will gain practical information about family care giving. Sessions are open to anyone who cares for a loved one at home or in a long term care facility. SPCA fundraiser

A fundraising day for the Yarmouth SPCA will be held inside at the South Centennial School, Forbes Street, Saturday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Rain or shine. Yard sale, bake sale, craft table, SPCA items and 2009 pet calendars.
Memorial trail ride

The Tracey Graves Memorial Trail Ride is being held Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. (rain date 19th). Again this year the ride begins at the Hebron Recreation Centre and proceeds along the Yarmouth trail south (old train tracks) to Yarmouth town, goes as far as West Nova Fuels then returns to Hebron.
