The Events column is for non-profit listings of events in Digby County. Items may run twice for free before the event’s date. Items can be emailed to info@digbycourier.ca, faxed to 245-6136 or mailed to the Digby Courier at 124 Water St., P.O. Box 670, Digby, N.S., B0V 1A0, attention: Events. Deadline for submitting listings for the upcoming issue is Thursday at 4 p.m.
Sept. 4 - Tea Days in Weymouth at Weymouth Historical Society Building from 3-5 p.m., sponsored by Digby-Weymouth Cancer Society.

Sept. 6 - Firefighters’ breakfast in Bear River Fire Hall from 7-10 a.m. Proceeds for upkeep of Fire Hall.

Sept. 8 - Digby General Hospital Auxiliary meeting at 10 a.m. in hospital boardroom. New members welcome.

Sept. 8 - Book launch for ‘Blasted’ by Kate Story in Oakdene Centre.

Sept. 10 - Gospel concert at 7 p.m. in Hill Grove Baptist Church with Florence and Harry Pope of Botwood, Nfld.

Sept. 10 - Anxiety Management group meeting in Digby Mental Health centre.

Sept. 12 - ‘Newfie Night’ in Digby Neck Consolidated School featuring Harry and Florence Pope of Newfoundland. Potluck at 5:30 p.m. Hosted by Little River Baptist Church. For information, call 834-2350.

Sept. 13 - Loyalist Heritage Tea from 1–3 p.m. in Hillsburgh United Church, Bear River. Excerpts from plays by Hal Theriault. Sponsored by the Bear River Historical Society and the Municipality of Digby.

THURSDAYS - 603rd Weymouth Royal Canadian Army Cadets meets in Weymouth Consolidated School from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Looking for new members aged 12-18. For information, contact Lieut. Robert Sweeney at (902) 837-7419 after 6 p.m.

Last Tuesday of month - MS support group meets in Digby General Hospital cafeteria from 6:30–8 p.m. For information, call John Bent at 245-6707.
