Nurse Practitioner Clinic opens Sept. 11
A new Nurse Practitioner Walk-In Clinic will operate out of Digby General Hospital, every Thursday, beginning Sept. 11.
Dara Lee MacDonald, Nurse Practitioner, will see patients from 8 a.m. - noon and from 1- 4 p.m.
The walk-in clinics will be held in the consultant’s clinic area of Digby General Hospital. People visiting the clinic must first register at the front desk at the main hospital entrance. Patients are asked to bring their health card when registering, as well as a list of all medications.
“This service is ideal for people who require non-emergency primary health care, such as prescription renewals and treatment for minor ailments,” said Jodi Ybarra, Nurse Practitioner Services Manager for South West Health. “Offering the clinic once a week is just the beginning. The Nurse Practitioner Clinic will expand to a full time service in the near future. Once this full time practice is set up patients will be able to call and book appointments and become patients of the clinic.”
Judy LeBlanc, Site Manager of Digby General Hospital, said the new Nurse Practitioner Walk-In Clinic will mean an enhanced level of service for people in the Digby area.
