August 10 to August 16, 2008 continued DOUCET, Nelida, 76, Little Brook, died Aug. 16, 2008, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Funeral Aug. 20 at St. Mary's Church, Church Point. Burial in the parish cemetery.
August 10 to August 16, 2008 continued FIZZARD (Romain), Bernadette, 77, died in Villa Acadienne on Aug. 16. Funeral Aug. 20, in St. Bernard Church.
August 10 to August 16, 2008 continued Evelyn Charlena Woodworth - 92, of Wolfville Elms, formerly of New Minas, passed away Monday, August 11, 2008 in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Greenwich, Kings Co., she was a daughter of the late Aubrey and Verdie Moriah (Schofield) Melvin. Evelyn worked at the Cornwallis Inn in Kentville for many years. She was a member of both the New Minas Baptist Church and the 50 Plus Club of New Minas. She enjoyed traveling, especially throughout Europe and lived for two years in Germany. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend. Evelyn is survived by daughters: Helen (Ray) Wiseman, New Minas; Shirley (Tom) Carter, Black River; son, David (Judy) Woodworth, Camrose, Alta; 29 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; daughter- in- law, Betty Woodworth, 2 brothers in law: Lloyd, Steam Mill & Bligh (Jackie) Woodworth, Liverpool, and many nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of a family of 15. She was predeceased by her husband, James Wilfred; son, Garnet and by her brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place and there was no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2008 in the Annapolis Valley Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr. Coldbrook. Chaplain Jim Norton officiated. Interment in Chipman’s Corner Cemetery, Chipman’s Corner. No flowers by request. Donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
