Kings Community Economic Developments
Welcome to Kings County

If you’re a new resident of Kings County assisted by the Move to Kings program, the Kings CED Agency is asking that you let them know you’ve arrived.

A primary program of the Kings CED Agency, Move to Kings was designed to attract new families to the region. Coordinated by MaDonna MacDonald, Move to Kings has assisted some 5,500 families since 1996.

Each year, approximately 20-30 families have moved to Kings County after receiving an attractive fulfillment package and continued contact with MacDonald.

“We receive inquiries through responses to strategic advertising, our website, postcards, referrals and word-of-mouth,” MacDonald says. “Sometimes clients are ready to move; other times they are in the early stages of planning to relocate.”

MacDonald measures project success by documenting families who move into the county. “As new families relocate to Kings, this statistical information is of great value to the community,” she said. “Documentation of their arrival date and location in Kings provide these valuable statistics. It’s a wonderful feeling to meet the new families as they settle in their new homes.”

If you or someone you know has moved to Kings County after receiving the Move to Kings information package, or you’d like more information on the program, contact MaDonna MacDonald, Development Officer at 678-2298 or via e-mail at mail@kingsced.ns.ca.

Kings Innovation Library

The Kings Innovation Council is a volunteer committee of the Kings CED Agency comprised of individuals who have demonstrated their commitment to innovation and to the community. The Council creates alliances between different economic sectors through the coming together of entrepreneurs, researchers, educators, governments and agencies.

The Council has created over the last few months a library with various books, DVDs and other materials that promote innovative thinking. These resources can be used for book clubs, staff training and personal development.

This library is now online and books can be signed out for reading. The library can be accessed at www.innovation101.ca. Choose the “library” tab and select “search library” for a complete list of available resources.

For more information about the Kings Innovation Library, contact Marianne Gates, Development Officer at 678-2298 or via e-mail at marianne@kingsced.ns.ca.
