Care Clown Humour Kart unveiled
The Yarmouth Hospital's Care Clowns held a "picnic" in the hospital foyer at noon today during which they unveiled their new Humour Kart.
The event was scheduled as part of Care Clown Humour Week, as proclaimed in the provincial Legislative Assembly in 2006.
The kart is a special initiative of the Yarmouth Care Clowns and the hospital's Humour Committee and will be available to patients in the long-term care unit of the Yarmouth hospital to help brighten their stay and that of visiting family and friends.
Equipped with a TV monitor, a DVD player and a CD player as well as a variety of DVDs of old comedy series and some films and CDs of popular music selections, the kart will also provide an assortment of activity materials that residents can enjoy. Much of the material provided for the kart has been donated by several local businesses.
