The Events column is for non-profit listings of events in Digby County. Items may run twice for free before the event’s date. Items can be emailed to info@digbycourier.ca, faxed to 245-6136 or mailed to the Digby Courier at 124 Water St., P.O. Box 670, Digby, N.S., B0V 1A0, attention: Events. Deadline for submitting listings for the upcoming issue is Thursday at 4 p.m.
To Aug. 22 - Remember Loyalist past with a stroll through Church of St. Peter & St. Thomas cemetery in Weymouth North. Guide Roberta Journeay. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1:30–2:30 p.m.

Aug. 8 - Assisting your memory workshop at Digby Career Resource Centre from 1–3 p.m. Call 245-7540 for information.

Aug. 9 - Between Friends concert in Digby Baptist Church at 7 p.m. Free will offering.

Aug. 9 - ‘Tumbleweed’ in concert with a great mix of gospel, jazz, country and Texas swing at 7:30 p.m. in Oakdene Center, sponsored by Bear Rhythm (the Bear River Music Society). Admission.



Aug. 9 - Trask family reunion in Marshalltown Church Hall at 1 p.m. for descendants of Elias Trask. Potluck at 5 p.m. Evening jam session. Call Linda at 584-3197 or Carol at 245-2357.

Aug. 9 - All-you-can-eat breakfast at St. Mary’s Bay Baptist Church in Barton from 7:30–10:30 a.m. Celebrate Scallops Days with us.

Aug. 10 - 4-H light horse show at Annapolis Valley Exhibition, Lawrencetown. Exhibition week is Aug. 11-16.

Aug. 13 - Heritage tea in Old Temperance Hall Museum, Smith’s Cove, from noon to 2 p.m. Ladies and children, decorate your bonnets. Prizes to be awarded. For information, call 245-5490.

Aug. 14 - Tea Days in Weymouth Historical Society Building from 3–5 p.m., sponsored by Weymouth Garden Society (mini flower show).

Aug. 15 - Emailing for seniors workshop in Digby Career Resource Centre from 1–3 p.m. Call 245-7540 for information.

Aug. 16 - Strawberry supper in Bear River United Church vestry from 5 - 6 p.m. Beans, ham, potatoes salad and strawberry shortcake. Everyone welcome.

Aug. 15 - Warner House open house in Freeport during Freeport Days

Aug. 17 - Freeport Days Loyalist tea in Lent House and Loyalist Park from 1-4 p.m. Free will offering

August - Art works by local artist Teresa Henry at Clare branch library, and landscape paintings of Clare by Isao Sanami-Morrill at Weymouth library. For information, call 837-4596.

TUESDAYS - Baby and me morning fun for babies and caregivers from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Isaiah W. Wilson Memorial Library, Digby. Program presented by Family Resource Centre and Public Health. Phone 245-2163 for information.

TUESDAYS - DEFGA bingo at Digby East Fish and Game Association clubhouse at 7 p.m.

WEDNESDAYS - Mental health support group meets in Digby General Hospital boardroom at 7:30 p.m. for anyone with an interest in mental health. For information, call John Roswell at 245-4552.

THURSDAYS - 603rd Weymouth Royal Canadian Army Cadets meets in Weymouth Consolidated School from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Looking for new members aged 12-18. For information, contact Lieut. Robert Sweeney at (902) 837-7419 after 6 p.m.
