News for firefighters
Various calls keep YFD busy
During Aug. 4 and 5 the Yarmouth Fire Department responded to three calls, all of a different nature. A page at 3:55 p.m. on the fourth was for the boat crew and the department’s zodiac to respond to the Chebogue River for a pleasure yacht taking on water as a result of a broken water pipe. The crew was quickly on scene as another boat was towing the disabled boat to the wharf. The two aboard were in no immediate danger. While at this scene Engine 4 and a page sounded at 4:34 p.m. for a sprinkled alarm at Sunset Terrace. The problem was solved without any damage and while returning from Chebogue, Engine 4 was dispatched at 5:15 p.m. to Overton for an alarm. Several runs were made on Tuesday, Aug. 5. At 5:57 p.m. Engine 4 responded to a motor vehicle accident at 512 Main Shore Rd., members assisted EHS.
