Music at the pergola
During August every Thursday evening, weather permitting, there will be live music on the pergola at Domain de Grand Pre. John Tetrault will perform Aug. 7. The music starts at 7:30 p.m.
Workshop with Laura Smith
Ross Creek Centre for the Arts will be holding an adult songwriter workshop Aug. 9, taught by accomplished Maritime based singer/ songwriter and touring performer Laura Smith.
Smith is an artist in high demand on the Canadian folk music scene, with songs relaying on her strong, melodious and emotive voice and the depth of her soul-searching lyrics and themes that can be easily identified with. She has three albums and has earned both East Coast Music Award and Juno nominations.
Into the Wild
Fundy Summer Films screens Into the Wild this Sunday. Sean Penn brings Krakauer’s heartbreaking 1996 bestseller to the screen in this docu-drama. After university, Chris McCandless (Emile Hirsh) gives his savings to charity, burns his ID and hitchhikes across America, determined to escape society and get back to nature.
This film screens at the Al Whittle Theatre, Wolfville, Aug. 10 at 8 p.m. Tickets ($8) are available 30 min before screening.
