Valley Gardeners' show goes this weekend

The Valley Gardeners 26th Annual Flower and Vegetable Show is Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Kentville Fire Hall. The show will open to the public at 1 p.m. and runs until 4 p.m.

The annual event is a showcase for Valley Gardeners members and the public in general to enter their exhibits or spend a delightful afternoon observing the different categories.

Items on display will include flower arrangements, different types of cut flowers, vegetables, jams and a baking section. There will be categories for children as well as adults.

Although this is the 26th show for Valley Gardeners, it is actually the club’s 25th anniversary. This will be reflected in a display of artifacts, memorabilia and a collection of yearbooks, carefully recording club events, all maintained by Ann Painter.
