These closures are a result of physician unavailability. South West Health is continuing to try to recruit new physicians to the area.
Shelburne County residents requiring emergency services should visit Yarmouth Regional Hospital Emergency Department (60 Vancouver Street, Yarmouth) or Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.
The public is reminded to dial 911 in the case of an emergency.
Patients are requested to always bring their Nova Scotia Health Card to any emergency department, a list of medications and a list of allergies. This will help physicians and nurses provide better care.
