Lieutenant-governor to present Community Spirit Award to Clare on Aug. 15

Lt.-Gov. Mayann Francis will present the Community Spirit

Award to Clare during National Acadian Day events in Clare on Aug. 15.

The award, which consists of a crystal trophy, was created by the

lieutenant-governor and announced last fall to recognize and celebrate

communities that are making Nova Scotia a better place.

Other communities receiving the award are Port Morien, Annapolis Royal (on Aug. 16) and Tatamagouche.

The awards are sponsored by Transcontinental Media, which owns this newspaper and by Nova Scotia Power Inc.
