Performance

July 23

Musicians for a Free Tibet

will perform at 7 p.m., Wednesday July 23, at Th'YARC, Parade Street, Yarmouth

Tickets: $ 10 in advance, $ 12 at the door.

Concert

July 23

There will be a concert on July 23 with Cocodrie, Fayo, Pascal Lejeune and Julian Babin at École secondaire de Par-en-Bas, Tusket $10 per person. - 7 p.m.

Movie

July 25

There will be a movie at the Cape Forchu lightstation Friday, July 25. Pirates of the Caribbean will be shown on a big screen outside at the light. Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Weather permitting. For more information, call 902-742-4522.

Open mic

July 25

There will be an open mic with Blue Country at Le Club Acadien on Friday, July 25 at 8 p.m. Members and guests. No charge. Info: 902-648-2203.

Family day

July 25

Seafest family day will be held at the Cape Forchu lightstation Friday July 25 from 12 to 4 p.m. Children’s activities and BBQ including Children’s Wish Foundation. Bon fire by the sea with marshmallows and entertainment by Merry and Durkee at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 902-742-4522

Anniversary

July 26

There will be a 15TH anniversary celebration at Parents Place Yarmouth Resource Centre, 34 Barnard St., July 26 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. Yard sale, BBQ, centre tours, kids games, cake cutting (BBQ is by donation).

Free day camp

Starts Aug. 5

There are still spaces available for the August summer day camp for children 6 to 11 years of age. There will be three one-week camps beginning Aug. 5 held at Central School between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. Arts and crafts, outdoor play, daily topics and related activities (e.g. self esteem, angry feelings). Lunch and snacks are provided. Registration is required. Flower show

Aug. 2

The Yarmouth Garden Club’s 12th annual flower show and tea will be held Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Beacon Church hall, Beacon Street, Yarmouth from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission $4.

Fair

Aug. 4

There will be a fun day fair at the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 61, 75 Parade St., Yarmouth on Aug. 4 from 10:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. (Free admission, rain or shine.) Yard sale, cake walk, bake and craft tables, fish pond, dart shoot, auction from 2 to 2:30, canteen and kitchen. Members and guests.

Terrific Tuesday

Terrific Tuesdays are held very Tuesday afternoon from 1:30-3:30 p.m. for grades primary to five at Yarmouth Wesleyan Church. Free. Themes such as Fear Factor, Wet-n-Wild. For more information call 902-742-7323.

Pairings, an exhibit by the Yarmouth Art Society with the Write Away writers' group, will be at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives this summer until Sept. 14.

Veterans’ reunion planned

There will be a reunion of Korean War veterans, peacekeepers and veterans of all foreign wars on July 25, 26 and 27 at the Yarmouth branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. For further information telephone 902-742-9679.

Veterans Association

Support group

Tuesdays

The Baby and Me peer support group meets Tuesday mornings, 10 - 11:30, at Yarmouth Superstore’s community room. All infants with their parents and/or grandparents, as well as pregnant women, are welcome. Peer breastfeeding support is also available. Further info: 902-742-7141.
