Will miss Carolyn Sloan

Please count this agency among those that are truly saddened to learn that Carolyn Sloan is leaving her position with your paper for northern climes. As well as the many qualities you portrayed for Carolyn (Going North, Page 6, July 17 edition), I can also add “friend to local business.”

It is not common to find in the same person an appreciation for the arts, concern for social issues, and an understanding that local businesses are the backbone of our communities. Carolyn Sloan understood this and made it her business to communicate this in an entertaining way to your readership.

We thank her publicly for her interest and support for local business and wish her all the best in her new endeavors.
