Hello, how is everyone doing this week? Have you been frolicking in the lake to stay cool or do you have an air conditioner at home? Before we know it we will be preparing for snow again and it will cool then.
The card parties at the Black River hall continue to be a success. July 15 brought a hall-full with 11 tables in attendance. Ladies’ first went to Loyla Horner and Judy Forsythe won ladies’ second. The ladies’ low went to Audrey Keddy.
Men’s first went to John Lloyd while Zane Long won the men’s second and Leo Spinney won the Men’s low prize. Leo Spinney also won the traveler prize for the night.
Glenn Ells won the door prize and Loyla Horner won the 50/50. The prizes for the evening were donated by Pat and George Brown of Centreville, Lorraine and Jim Stevens and Dick and Marie Weir. The wonderful teamwork of the community to put these evenings together and supply the tasty lunches is greatly appreciated by everyone.
The soccer tournament that took place July 12-13 in Kentville was a success and fun was had by all. The dedicated children played even though it was very hot and sunny. Congratulations to all the participants and thank you to all of the volunteers that arranged the event.
Reminder to everyone: put sunscreen on before going outside and reapply it often. I had SPF 45 on and I still received a sunburn.
