Ladies' auxiliary plans for full fall slate
Our monthly meeting was held June 16, 2008. There were 26 ladies in attendance and our President, Emma Wallace, chaired the meeting.
Thank-you cards were received from Kay Jordan, Nora Russell, Faye Brown and Marjorie and Emery Pothier.
Our yearly outing was held at the Kai Wing in Coldbrook with 31 ladies in attendance. All the ladies in attendance enjoyed the camaraderie with other ladies and the buffet was most enjoyable.
Padre Gayle reported attending Legion services for Francis Brown May 20; June 1 for Comrade Alfred Jordan; June 10 for Comrade Lorimar Schnare; and leaving cards for the different families.
Sgt. at Arms Sharon Stewart reported the Legion colours were in attendance for Comrade Alfred Jordan, Comrade Francis Brown and Comrade Lorimar Schnare.
In the absence of our Sick and Visiting chairperson, Wanda Fletcher, President Emma gave her report. She visited Bea McGee, Margaret Brinton and Janke Jones at Evergreen Home for Special Care.
We have several catering functions coming up so if anyone can help out in any small way, please contact Ruby Johnstone as summer is here and we will require extra help.
President Emma wished everyone a safe and happy summer and looks forward to coming back and seeing all our members in September.
“Award” night will be held Oct. 20, to coincide with our general meeting on that evening. Letters to the Award recipients will be mailed in September.
A reminder, ladies; our meeting Sept. 15, with a pot luck supper starting at 6:30 p.m., so come and bring your favourite dish and enjoy catching up with your fellow members.
Look forward to seeing everyone in September.
