Meeting

The Yarmouth Area Cancer Support Group will meet Wednesday, July 16, at 7 p.m. at the Sobey’s community room, Starrs Road, Yarmouth. Speaker will be Amy Wall, recreation therapist speaking about “therapeutic equestrian and canine programs can benefit those living with cancer by improving strength and balance, self-esteem, and cognition.” For more information contact Kent Blades at 902-742-3542 extension 470.

On Saturday, July 19, the Yarmouth County Museum’s annual garden sale takes place from 9 until 1. Used items, antiques, baked goods, plants, etc. will be available.

Washer tournament

There will be a washer tournament ($20 a team) at the K of C hall in Rocco Point Saturday, July 19. Late registration 9:30, play starts at 10. Cash prizes, canteen open. Info and to register: 902-648-3066.

Prayer service

An outdoor ecumenical prayer service will be held on the grounds of Villa St. Joseph-du-Lac Sunday, July 20, at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served following the service. Bring your own chairs.

Veterans’ reunion planned
