Man seriously injured in truck crash
Life-threatening injuries
A man was in serious condition in a Halifax hospital after his westbound pickup truck failed to negotiate a curve, hit a guard rail, and smashed into an oak tree on Old Mill Road in South Farmington Saturday, July 5.

Annapolis RCMP responded to the crash at 1:15 a.m.

The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was ejected from the truck that had narrowly missed a house at 2208 Old Mill Road.

The driver was transported to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax by ambulance for serious and possibly life threatening injuries.

RCMP said a preliminary investigation suggests speed as a factor in the crash and the lack of seat belt usage as a factor in the injury severity.

Annapolis Valley Traffic Services is continuing the investigation.
