Crazy over calendars
The Privateer Days nude calendar officially went on sale July 2.
Crazy over calendars
The “big reveal” of the Privateer Days nude calendar left the Astor Theatre with standing room only on July 2.

“We had no idea it was going to be that big,” said project leader Brian Fralic, “It was quite amazing.”

Photo shoot locations for the 16-month calendar included the Rossignol Cultural Centre, Fralic’s Cove, Beach Meadows Beach and Pine Grove Park.

On July 2, “we had all the models there, we had a power point presentation of all the models,” he said. “The crowds just were wild, they were just cheering and screaming.”

Each model was presented with a picture of their month as a thank you.

Fralic told the crowd, “anybody who buys this is not only leaving with a calendar of good looking people, they are leaving with a lot of history of Liverpool.”

The calendar contains history and facts of the town.

“Sobeys did a great job at catering and the curling club did an amazing job at the bar,” added Fralic.

“We sold over 600 calendars plus the profits from the door,” he said. “It was an overwhelming success.”

Calendars are $25 each.

Calendars are available throughout Liverpool at different venues.

They were sold during Privateer Days at the information booth.

“You’ll be seeing the calendar in all three counties,” he added.

Proceeds go towards Privateer Days.

“It will help with out 2009 anniversary, plus we’re hoping it will put us in a good financial position for further years, plus pay our deficit off,” he said.

Fralic noted they had a great response from sponsors, which covered most of the printing costs.

The photographer was Nance Ackerman and Greg Tutty was the graphic designer.
