The Honda Civic just isn’t going to cut it as the family buggy anymore for Nola and Jamie Moses of South Ohio. Between 10:12 and 10:14 a.m. on Wednesday the couple became a family …of six.
Nola Moses gave birth to Sophie (4 pounds 11 ounces), Liam (5 lbs. 8 oz.), Jack (3 lbs. 9 oz.) and Rhys (3 lbs. 2.5 oz.) by caesarean section at the IWK-Grace hospital. She carried the quads for 34 weeks, spending the last 10 weeks at the IWK.
Jamie Moses says it’s a relief to have the babies here safe and sound, and that Nola is feeling much more comfortable.
"She’s great, she’s recuperating. She feels a lot better,” he said.
The babies will be staying at the IWK for another three to four weeks. The parents are hoping they will all be released at the same time.
Moses says there have been many offers of assistance from the community and added that the kind of help that will be most appreciated is work pertaining to cooking, housework or property chores.
“We really want the family to be involved with the babies,” he said.
The problem of transporting their three sons and a daughter will be a challenge for the couple, which had been trying for nearly five years to get pregnant.
Nola’s fallopian tubes were blocked and badly scarred and after all of the surgeries, the drugs and the procedures, the couple decided that the costly in vitro fertilization was their last and only option.
