Argyle councillor Arthur Muise dies
Argyle Councillor Arthur John Muise, 69, died Thursday in Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
He had been a municipal council member since 1991.
He represented the Municipality of Argyle’s District 5, which includes Quinan, Springhaven, Bell Neck, North Belleville, Belleville and much of Ste-Anne-du-Ruisseau and Eel Brook.
Those who attended Argyle council meetings – or who perhaps watched them on television – would be familiar with Muise’s regular updates on what was happening with the municipality’s recreation department.
His council interests also included Waste Check and Home Support.
A former TV repair man who later owned Quinan Groceries, Muise was retired and, according to the Municipality of Argyle’s website, he was involved in various volunteer organizations, among them the Knights of Columbus and the Ste-Anne parish.
Muise enjoyed hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities, the site noted.
His funeral will be held Saturday at the Ste-Anne Roman Catholic church in SAR.
