DRHS holds 60th graduation exercises
Double medal winner leads parade of students earning honors
A class of 64 students graduated last week during the 60th annual graduation exercises at Digby Regional High School.
Class honors were led by James Hopkins, who was valedictorian and winner of the Governor-General’s Medal and the Queen Elizabeth II Medal, as well as recipient of science and mathematics awards.

Hopkins also led the class in scholarships, with an Acadia University excellence scholarship valued at $9,257, a William Ganong Memorial Scholarship of $1,000, and a $500 bursary from the Royal Canadian Legion branch in Bear River.

Other major winners were Kelly Thompson, who was presented the DRHS Memorial Cup and a $3,000 entrance scholarship to Memorial University, and Casie Tidd, who earned a $3,500 scholarship to St. Francis Xavier University.
