Middleton woman faces many charges
Break-ins, fraud, result in arrest of 28-year-old
A Middleton woman faces numerous charges, including break and entering, fraud, theft, possession of stolen property, and breaching probation after a series of incidents in Annapolis and Kings counties.
Sherry Melanson, 28, was arraigned in Kentville provincial court June 18 and was remanded into custody. On June 19, she appeared in Digby provincial court where she was further remanded to custody until a June 25 court appearance in Annapolis Royal for a bail hearing.
The charges follow after a break and enter into a residence in Clementsport and theft from a Kingston business. Stolen in the Clementsport break-in were a laptop computer, digital camera, cell phone and other items.
That investigation also revealed that a woman had been defrauding Clementsport area residents by posing as a canvasser for the Joints in Motion campaign. At least 35 residents were bilked out of their hard-earned cash. Anyone else who was a victim or has information is asked to call Annapolis RCMP at 665-4481.
