Twenty-nine students received high school graduating diplomas Wednesday during graduation ceremonies at St. Mary's Bay Academy.
Along with diplomas, achievement awards in all subject areas, bursaries and scholarships were also awarded, with class valedictorian Rachel Mullen receiving the Governor-General’s Medal and Sarah LeBlanc winning the Queen Elizabeth II Medal.
Principal Doris Fraser and school board member Alvin Comeau addressed the graduates, congratulating them on a job well done and wishing them success in the future.
On behalf of the graduating class, Mullen thanked parents for providing support and encouragement for the past 13 years.
“Keep your dreams alive and strive to do your best,” Mullen advised her fellow graduates.
Kassandra Atkins and Brian Johns were awarded the awards as athletes of the year.
