The Queens Fitness Centre has new staff, specials and a trial run of the Queens Fit Pro program is underway.
“It’s a first in Queens County to help 100 inactive residents become physically active,” said Queens Fitness Centre manager, Liz Boland about Queens Fit Pro. “Anybody that’s interested can go talk to their family Doctor.”
The program, which was announced at the end of May, runs for three months and has been “very successful” so far, said Queens Fitness Centre board of directors member, Bill Wolfe.
“We have some new staff again,” continued Boland. “Joining myself and Ann-Marie Mitton are, Vickie Leaman, Larry Slaunwhite and Tyler Colp.”
The fitness centre also has a special taking place until July 31.
“Basically what it is, any new or existing monthly member that joins the fitness centre for a year receives a 13th month free,” said Boland.
“Anita Howard also does personal training for members of the fitness centre,” Boland mentioned. “She’s a self employed personal trainer.”
She also noted the fitness centre will take part in Seafest, Aug. 22 to 24.
They will sell pizza.
“Funds will go towards a new piece of cardio equipment,” added Boland.
