Six passengers alive following boat capsizing in Conception Bay
Six people were on board the Joyce’s Dream when it capsized in Conception Bay Wednesday afternoon.
The six were plucked from the chilly waters between Kelly’s Island and Port De Grave by a fishing vessel from Cupids that happened to be in the area.
The Coast Guard tasked resources around suppertime to the area, including three vessels and a DND Cormorant helicopter from 103 Squadron in Gander.
After being pulled from the water the six people were taken to shore at Brigus where they could be assessed and treated for any injuries.
The 30-foot boat called Joyce’s Dream is believed to be a converted fishing vessel, now used as a pleasure craft.
