Police investigate school assault
Police have investigated an alleged assault at West Hants Middle School last week.
Windsor District RCMP responded to a report of an assault at the Brooklyn school 9:30 a.m. Monday June 2. Two Grade 8 male students had been allegedly throwing balls of clay at one another in a classroom.
The situation had soon escalated into one of the students throwing a stool, which resulted in the other student receiving a cut to the head.
The cut was apparently minor but, as a precaution, EHS ambulance took the injured student to the hospital. The student was treated and released released.
Windsor District RCMP held the other student until they could release him to his grandparents later that day.
Both students are 14-years-old.
Police have found that it was an isolated incident with no danger to other students or school staff.
Police have recommended that the allegation go through Restorative Justice, and they continue to remain in contact with school officials.
