Revised Kings County maps

The Kings CED Agency is happy to announce that newly revised maps of Kings County are now available. To cover future reprinting costs, maps can be purchased in quantities of 20 or less at a cost of $3 each from the Kings CED Agency.

If you would like to purchase a map/maps or would like more information, contact MaDonna MacDonald, Development Officer, at 678-2298.

New staff

The Kings CED Agency welcomes Seamus McGreal as the new Heritage Planner to assist with the Nomination Grand Pré UNESCO Proposal. This is a joint position between the Kings CED Agency and the Municipality of the County of Kings.

Seamus has a background in planning, having graduated with a Master of Planning from Dalhousie University in 2007. Seamus commenced his duties June 2.

AVESTA’s Annual General Meeting

Community partners and the general public are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the Annapolis Valley Event and Sport Tourism Association (AVESTA) on Monday, June 16 from 5-7 p.m.

The AGM will be held at Boston Pizza in New Minas. For more information, visit AVESTA’s website at www.avesta.ns.ca.

Community partners, Kings CED Agency members and the general public are invited to the Annual General Meeting of the Kings Community Economic Development Agency Thursday, June 12 from 5-8:30 p.m. The AGM will be held in the Annapolis Mess at 14 Wing Greenwood.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Robert Summerby-Murray, Dean of Social Sciences, Mount Allison University, who will speak on the socio-economic impact of heritage tourism on rural Maritime communities.

A dinner will also be provided and 2008-2009 membership dues can be paid at the door.
