
Sollows, Alice Louise (Cook) - The death of Alice Louise(Cook) Sollows of Quispamsis New Brunswick, the beloved wife of Kenneth G. Sollows occurred at 7:00 AM on May 24, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on October 9th, 1926 in Chebogue, Yarmouth County, NS. Alice was the daughter of the late Frank and Belle (Nickerson) Cook, of Chebogue . Alice attended school in Chebogue and at the Yarmouth Academy and in 1943, was voted the prettiest girl at the Academy. In her youth, Alice was an avid equestrian. Through the years, she instilled in her children a respect for nature, a love of the outdoors, an appreciation of music and a passion for dancing. Her sweet contralto voice and the pleasure she found in music are gifts we will always treasure. Alice will always be remembered as a welcoming and caring person, a dear wife, a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her gentle presence will be missed in all our lives. Alice is survived by her daughters Christine Chase (Gary)of Saint John NB, Alison Sollows-Astle (John Astle) of Nackawic, NB, sons Derek Sollows ( Nargis Kheraj) of Saint John, Kenneth Sollows (Mary Pitt ) of Quispamsis, NB, and Roy Sollows (Ann Marie Rogers) of Kentville, NS., grandchildren Craig & Amanda Chase, Logan, Jasmin and Trent Astle, Ethan, Tristan and Justin Sollows, David Sollows (Lindsay Manzer) and John Sollows, Marjorie and Alice Sollows and great-grandson Jacob Sollows, brothers Stephen, Joe and Neil Cook of Yarmouth, NS and sister Ann (Cook) Grimshaw of Chebogue, NS. Besides her parents, Alice was predeceased by her brothers Don, Francis, Ken, Bob, Hugh, Arnold and Billy and sisters Lillian (Cook) Bower and Mildred (Cook) Turner. Thank you to the nurses and staff of 5CS Saint John Regional Hospital, for their kindness and compassion over these past few weeks. Alice’s remains were cremated. A donation to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A family ” Celebration of Alice’s Life” will take place at a later date.

NOEL, Rejean Joseph, 65. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rejean Joseph Noel in Surf Lodge Nursing Home, Lockeport, formerly of Jordan Ferry, Dartmouth and throughout Quebec, on Saturday May 24, 2008. Rejean was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Alberta (Jasmin) Noel and brother, Sylvio, of Montreal. He is survived by his son, Eric Noel, Dartmouth; partner, Ruth Perry, Sable River; brothers, Andre (Yolanda); Harvey (Claire); sisters, Doris and Lise Noel, Quebec; ex-wife, Marcelle Tremblay, Montreal. Rejean was a pipe fitter for Imperial Oil refinery in Dartmouth and Montreal for twenty five years. Rejean was happiest bow hunting and on the waves in his zodiac boat. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, 58 Bulkley Street, Shelburne, at 12 noon, conducted by Father Pat O’Meara. Memorial donations may be made to the activity fund of Surf Lodge. Interment will take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Staff of Surf Lodge for their care and constant devotion to Rejean’s care and well being.
