Drug charges laid against two county men
Two Yarmouth County men have been charged with the production of marijuana and possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking as a result of an investigation connected to the execution of search warrants in four county locations.
Charges have been laid against Jeffrey Jason Raynard, 32, and Douglas John Raynard, 54. The men are slated to appear in provincial court on Aug. 12.
On Thursday, May 22, search warrants were executed on residences in Raynardton and Gavelton. These search warrants were a follow-up to other search warrants executed – as part of a joint operation between the Southwest Nova Drug Section and the RCMP’s rural detachment – at two vacant residences on Highway 340 on May 19 and 20.
The RCMP claim to have uncovered elaborate hydroponic grow operations at each of the locations during those searches, and say they seized a large amount of marijuana and growing paraphernalia.
