Windermere crash kills young man
A 22-year-old Morristown man was killed in a vehicle collision May 18 in Windermere.
Logan David Leonard was a passenger in a pick-up truck that collided with a minivan on the Windermere Road, near the intersection of Cleveland Road, at 10:30 a.m.
A female passenger in the truck was airlifted to the QEII in Halifax and the male driver was treated and released from the Valley Regional. Two passengers in the van were also treated and released.
Kings RCMP say Leonard died at the scene. No one in the truck was wearing a seatbelt, but RCMP have ruled out alcohol.
EHS crews were first on the scene and Berwick firefighters arrived quickly from the hall in town, where a half-dozen department members had been doing regular Sunday morning inspections and cleaning. Firefighters assisted paramedics and RCMP, keeping the Windermere Road closed until 3 p.m. for the police investigation.
