Mill Village spring fair raises $3,800
The community of Mill Village was bustling on May 10 at the Mill Village Consolidated School spring fair, which raised $3,800 and counting.
As of deadline, president of the Mill village parent support group Donna Abbott was still calculating the total raised.
“We get a lot of support for the school,” she continued, “they’ve been having the spring fair since I’ve been here and I’ve been working here for 12 years.”
Two new events at this year’s fair included guitar hero and dance, dance revolution.
There were games like pluck a dock, fish pond, sucker pull, a BBQ, cake walk, silent auction and more, said Abbott.
The money we raise goes back into the school one way or another, whether it’s for trips, special guests, learning materials or other things, she added.
Last year the event raised about $4,000.
Abbott also serves on the SAC group, does noon hour lunch duty and runs the hot lunch and breakfast programs at the school.
