Students from Barton and Weymouth consolidated schools were among those to participate last Friday in the Sport Fair at Yarmouth’s Mariners Center.
These schools were two of the many throughout the Tri-County School Board who were bussed in to take advantage of the three-day event.
The annual fair’s location has traveled around the province since its inception in 2002 and this year was hosted by Yarmouth for the first time.
Sport associations from around the province were on hand to promote their events and sports.
The fair was put on by Sport Nova Scotia, a non-profit, non-government organization that is the voice of the amateur sporting community in Nova Scotia. The organization also promotes the benefits of health, personal development and achievement of all sport participants.
The fair provided students in elementary and junior high the opportunity to experience a variety of sports that are available in Nova Scotia.
The event also assisted students in discovering what sports best suited them as well as helping them to achieve a healthy and happy lifestyle.
