April 6 to April 12, 2008 continued Stephen Ernest Edmonds - With deepest sorrow we announce the sudden passing on April 11, 2008, of our son, Stephen Ernest Edmonds, 33, in Wabasca, Alta. Stephen was the much-loved son of Roger Edmonds and Marie (Riggs) Edmonds-Greene. Stephen was born May 3, 1974, in Halifax, moved to Digby County, and spent many years in Bear River. Stephen attended school in East Lawrencetown, Bear River, Digby, Annapolis and Brockville, Ont.. After graduating with honours from Grenville Christian College as male Prefect of the Year 1994 and salutatorian of the graduating class of 1994, he settled in Ottawa for a number of years with wife, Rebecca Officer, before heading out West. For the last two years, he worked in northern Alberta. Stephen always had a love for the woods, fishing, camping and drawing. He extremely enjoyed his trips into White Sand Lake, Digby County, so he was very much at home in the wilds of Alberta. His very favourite pastime was cooking and barbequing for whomever he could, whenever he could. He was becoming quite the chef. His wonderful zany sense of humour and his smile could light up an entire room. He will be ever so sadly missed. He is survived by his parents, Marie and Roger; sisters, Leanne Melanson (Gerald), Andrea Edmonds, Shannon Cormier (James); stepfather, Burton Greene, and stepmother Lynn Edmonds; stepbrother Philip Greene; stepsister Jaymie Burke (Paul); half-brothers Joshua and Sam Edmonds; half-sister Sarah Edmonds; niece Emma Burke and nephews, Jacob Burke, Adrian Cormier, Travis and Dalton Melanson, and Darcy, Dakota and Jordan Greene. Funeral service was held in Advent Christian Church, Bear River. Interment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bear River. The family would like to thank the many friends, both near and far, and the community of Bear River for all the help and support during this time. Special thanks to Pastor Earl Waterman and Pastor Ken Perkins for officiating, Rev. Gordon Neish, the ladies auxiliary and congregation of Advent Christian Church, J.A. Snow Funeral Home, and David and Joanne Hopkins. Donations may be made to the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia, Mood Disorders Clinic.
