Motorcyclist killed in Wilmot crash
Bike hits van, bursts into flames
The Annapolis Valley RCMP Traffic Services is investigating a collision between a motorcycle and a passenger van which happened on Highway 1 in Wilmot, Annapolis County at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday.

An eastbound motorcycle collided with a van as it was making a left turn into a driveway.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, said Sgt. Rich Walkinshaw. The lone occupant of the van was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The impact of the collision caused the motorcycle to burst into flames.

A traffic collision re-constructionist was at scene and Highway 1 was closed for a few hours.

Walkinshaw said a preliminary investigation suggests speed as a factor in the collision.

Traffic Services is continuing the investigation in confirming the deceased's identity as well as investigating the causal factors of the crash.
