School play

Turkey supper

Food bank drive

Mother’s day tea

May 10 Come to the Granville Centre Baptist Mother’s Day Tea featuring bake sale, craft table and Chinese auction, at the Hall from 2-4 pm, admission $4.

Turkey supper

May 10 Mother’s Day Supper at the Melvern Square Community Center from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Enjoy a full course turkey supper and dessert for $9.00. Take outs available after 5:00 p.m.

Nordic walk

May 10 Nordic Walking Program in Middleton from 9:30-12:30pm, Middleton Baptist Church and Tuesday evening’s May 13th, ¬ June 17th, 7-8 pm, Town Hall. Cost: $25, (poles included). For more information and to register, phone Middleton recreation, 825-6611.

Variety show

May 10 Fund raiser for and at the Port Lorne Fire Hall at 7:00 p.m., with a special auction at 9 p.m. (donated items from local area). Musical talent includes Bernie Legg, David Graves, Joe Johnson, Karen Warner, Katrina Gillis, Ray & Nora Weir, Terry Moore, Tyra Brennan, Valley Grass and House Band (Sonny & Sheldon Chute, Joe Steele, & Terry Moore).

Lasagna supper

Hymn Sing

May11 A Hymn Sing will be held May 11 at the Wilmot Baptist Church Christian Fellowship Centre starting at 7 p.m. Special guests Shepherd's Joy. Located at the corner of the Dodge Road and Highway one in Wilmot. Refreshments to follow

Mother's Day Supper

May 11 Starting at 4 p.m. Scalloped potato, baked beans and ham, with apple pie for dessert. The first 50 ladies will receive a rose, and there will be door prizes. Adults $ 10, ages four to 12 - $ 5, three and under eat for free. This will be held at the Deep Brook Parish Hall, and is sponsored by the Bear River East Baptist Church. Bridgetown Market

May 13 The Bridgetown Market will open this spring on May 13 at 160 South St., from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The market is open to all vendors, but will concentrate on local farm products, crafts, baked and other food products. For more information, call Lewis at 665-2029 or 665-4865 before 6 p.m.

Free Lunch

May 16 Who says there’s no free lunch? Emmanuel Congregational Christian Church, 37 Gates Ave, Middleton, will provide a luncheon of soup, rolls, dessert coffee and tea on May 16 from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for any who wish to attend. Admission is free. An opportunity will be provided for those who would like to make a free will offering. All welcome.

Yard sale

May 17 Giant Spring Yard Sale at the Bridgetown Baptist Church until noon. Dishes, books, toys, puzzles, linens, appliances, plants, gardening items, crafts decorations and giant bake table. Rain or shine.

Farmers’ Market

May 17 The Annapolis Royal Farmers' and Traders' market opens Saturday, May 17 and continues every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until mid October. In July and August we feature live entertainment on Saturdays, and an additional Wednesday Afternoon Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free to the public.

Supper

May 17 Pot Luck Supper at the Port Lorne Fire Hall from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., with a variety of desserts, free will offering. Proceeds for the Port Lorne Ladies Auxiliary dishwasher fund.

Arts & Crafts Sale

May 17 Sale at the Melvern Square Community Center from 10am to 5 pm, admission $1, includes free beverage. Hand made local arts, crafts, and much more, also home baking and sandwiches available at the Café.

Flea Market

May 17 Come to the Masonic Hall in Annapolis Royal for a Flea Market from 8am to 1pm. Proceeds for the building fund.

Cards

May 20 Come to the Margaretsville Community Hall for 45’s at 7:30 pm. Admission charged, prizes given, and lunch served.

AGM

May 21 Annual General Meeting of the Margaretsville Community Hall Society at 7 pm in the Community Hall. Plans to be made for summer activities. All community members are welcome to attend.

Indoor/Outdoor Yard Sale

May 24 St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Bridgetown, will hold an indoo/outdoor yard sale Saturday, May 24 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Everything must go by noon. Anyone wishing to rent their own table/tables may do so for $10 per table. Phone 665-4372.

MAC Society Meeting

Women’s Place Lunch

May 30 The Women’s Place is hosting free community lunches the last Friday of each month. Our next session will be May 30 at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The topic will be women’s health, with speaker nurse practitioner Jacinta Harvey. All are welcome to attend. Free transportation can be arranged.

African violet show

May 31 The Annapolis Valley African Violet Society will hold their Show, Tea and Sale at the St. John’s United Church Hall, Middleton, from 2-4 pm
