There will be a kitchen party (Soirée de Musique) at Sylvesters, Centre de Pombcoup, West Pubnico Wednesday, May 7, 7:30 p.m. with the launch of the CD - Les Cols Bleus. $5 per person; music by local artists.

There will be a public meeting on May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Carleton fire hall to discuss the current status of the pre-primary program and to answer any questions or concerns Parents may have about the pre-primary program.

Re-opening

The Cell Gift and Book Shop located in Canada's oldest standing courthouse in Tusket is re-opening May 8, 12-4 p.m. All proceeds go to that area’s historical society.

Book launching

A book launching of Water-Walking in Heels by Pam Mood will be held at the Yarmouth Wesleyan Church, Haley Road, Friday, May 9, 7-9 p.m. Snacks, music, and book signing.

Arbor Day

There will be a variety show at the Forest Glen Community Centre on May 10 at 8 p.m.

Charity BBQ

M&M Meat Shop’s charity BBQ day

Saturday May 10, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

A minimum $2.50 donation gets you a hot dog or hamburger, a drink and a bag of chips. All proceeds go directly to Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada.

There will be a rappie pie and seafood chowder sale (eat-in or take-out) at the Wedgeport and District fire hall Saturday, May 10, from 4 to 6 p.m. $5 per plate/bowl. Proceeds for the Wedgeport and District Fire Department.

Spring coffee party

Sponsored by the Keystone Chapter #5 Order of the Eastern Star at the Masonic Banquet Room, Hebron, from 10 a.m. to noon. Will be serving muffins, biscuits, scones, doughnuts, cheese, jams, tea and coffee for $3.50.

The Baby and Me peer support group meets Tuesday mornings, 10 - 11:30, at Yarmouth Superstore’s community room. All infants with their parents and/or grandparents, as well as pregnant women, are welcome. Peer breastfeeding support is also available. Further info at 902-742-7141.
