The Kings-Edgehill girls and Avon View boys continued to set the pace in the Valley High School Rugby League.

Entering play Tuesday, May 6, Kings-Edgehill led the girls’ standings with a perfect 6-0 record. Avon View was second at 5-1, followed by West Kings at 4-2, Horton at 3-3, Middleton at 1-5 and Central Kings at 0-6.

The Avon View ‘B’ team, which plays in the Valley league but is not eligible for regional or provincial playoffs, had a record of two wins and four losses, good for fifth overall.

On the boys’ side, Avon View topped the standings at 6-0. Kings-Edgehill and Horton were tied for second at 4-2, Central Kings was 3-3, Middleton and West Kings both at 2-4 and Digby at 0-6.

In action Tuesday, April 29, Horton and West Kings split, with Horton easily winning the boys’ game 27-5 and West Kings coming from behind to win the girls’ game 17-5. In the only other game, the Kings-Edgehill girls blanked Avon View ‘B’ 51-0.

On Thursday, May 1, the Central Kings boys upset Kings-Edgehill 34-32 in Windsor. Avon View swamped Horton 43-3, also in Windsor, and Middleton topped West Kings 22-7 in Middleton.

In girls’ action, Kings-Edgehill shut out Central Kings 58-0 in Windsor. Avon View had a similarly easy 69-0 win over Horton, also in Windsor, while the West Kings girls earned their second win of the week, 23-0 over Middleton in Middleton.
