Auction & dessert

May 1 A Silent Auction and Dessert Night at the West Kings School from 7-9 p.m. Join us for desserts, music selection from the Band and phenomenal donations from local merchants for the auction. Proceeds for the school band.

Stability Ball Classes

May 1 Six-week Stability Ball Classes run from May 1 to June 12 at Lawrencetown Education Centre. Instructor is Cathy Bruce. Time is 7 to 8:15 p.m. Start at beginner and work up to the intermediate level. We do have a few extra balls available, let us know when you register if you need one. Spaces are limited. Please call 532-3144 to register!

Self-esteem workshops

May 2 “A Step Up” is a five week course that includes workshops on self-esteem, assertiveness, identifying your values, setting goals and implementing change. These free workshops (May 2, 9, 16, 23 and June 6) are being held by The Women’s Place, Bridgetown. Register by calling 665-5166.

Turkey supper

May 3 Come to the Three Rivers Community Centre for supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Adults $9; 12 and under $4.50. For more info, contact Audrey at 765-3442 or Darlene at 765-3529.

Flea market

May 3 Come to the Middleton Train Station from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Spring Shopping Expo

May 3 Expo of local home-based businesses at Queen of Heaven Church, Church St, Greenwood, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free admission. Donations to Queen of Heaven Church accepted at the door. Refreshments and door prize.

Yard & bake sale

May 3 Come to the Yard & Bake Sale at the St. George and St. Andrew United Church, Annapolis Royal (at the traffic lights) from 9 to 11:30 a.m., rain or shine.

Variety show

May 3 Evening of Country Music at the MACS Center, 2080 Bishop Mountain Rd., North Kingston. Free will offering, with proceeds to the Centre. Performing are Allan White & Friends, Bob and the Best Sisters, Val-Lee-Rose, Greg White & Friends, Logan & Brody Best, and Rick Snider from Stage Coach.

Cemetery clean-up

May 3 The Annual Cleanup of the Church Grove Cemetery will take place at 9 a.m. Everyone welcome. (Rain Date: May 10 at 9 a.m.)

Tea & sale

May 3 Spring Tea & Sale at the Parish Hall in Deep Brook from 2 to 3:30 p.m., featuring bake, book, craft and white elephant tables. Proceeds for the Anglican Church Women in the Parish of Clements.

Annual dinner

May 3 the Seventh Annual Battle of the Atlantic Commemorative dinner will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Clementsport. Advance tickets only ($20) by phoning Doug, 638-8700 or Karl at 638-3351.

Lion’s Breakfast

May 3 Come to the Bridgetown Lion’s Hall for breakfast from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. Enjoy scrambled eggs, potato patties, bacon, sausage, bologna and all the fixings. Free will offering.

Spring tea & sale

May 3 Featuring bake, book, craft and white elephant tables, at the Parish Hall, Deep Brook, from 2-3:30 p.m. Proceeds for the Anglican Church Women in the Parish of Clements.

Music Fest 2008

May 3 Come to The Robert Hall Music Fest at the Bridgetown High School, 7:00 to 9:30 p.m., with guests Ivan and Friends, Trillium, Valley Blue, Bernie Legg and Valley Grass. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years.

Meaghan Smith

Song service

May 4 Graham Moorehead and Friends will be performing at the Torbrook Baptist Church starting at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments will follow the service. All welcome.

Fundraiser

May 4 Support the Annapolis Skippers by coming to their performance at the Annapolis Fire Hall at 6:00 p.m.(note the new time). Admission is a free will offering, also available is a B’que, baked goods and a Chinese auction.

Music Monday

May 5 ABC Chorus with the Coalition for Music Education, invites you to an open rehearsal at St. Lukes Hall, Annapolis Royal starting at 7 pm. Former or perspective members or anyone interested in a night of entertainment are invited. For information, contact Joanne at 638-3489.

Senior’s party

May 5 The Bridgetown Seniors Party will be held at the Bridgetown Baptist Church from 2-4pm. All seniors from the Bridgetown and area are welcome.

Wilmot and Area Neighbourhood Watch

May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Wilmot Christian Fellowship Centre. Special guest speaker will be Christine Kennedy, the Seniors Safety Program Coordinator for the Annapolis County RCMP. All are encouraged to attend.

Scrabble Night

Spring Tea

May 10 Mother’s Day Supper at the Melvern Square Community Center from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Enjoy a full course turkey supper and dessert for $9.00. Take outs available after 5:00 p.m.

Nordic walk

Mother's Day Supper

May 11 Starting at 4 p.m. Scalloped potato, baked beans and ham, with apple pie for dessert. The first 50 ladies will receive a rose, and there will be door prizes. Adults $ 10, ages four to 12 - $ 5, three and under eat for free. This will be held at the Deep Brook Parish Hall, and is sponsored by the Bear River East Baptist Church. Bridgetown Market

May 13 The Bridgetown Market will open this spring on May 13 at 160 South St., from 3:30 to 7 p.m. The market is open to all vendors, but will concentrate on local farm products, crafts, baked and other food products. For more information, call Lewis at 665-2029 or 665-4865 before 6 p.m.

Farmers’ Market

May 17 The Annapolis Royal Farmers' and Traders' market opens Saturday, May 17 and continues every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. until mid October. In July and August we feature live entertainment on Saturdays, and an additional Wednesday Afternoon Market from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free to the public.

Arts & Crafts Sale

May 17 Sale at the Melvern Square Community Center from 10am to 5 pm, admission $1, includes free beverage. Hand made local arts, crafts, and much more, also home baking and sandwiches available at the Café.
