There were a total of 121 reports made to the RCMP in Kings County between April 24 and April 28.

A driver pumped $124 worth of gas then drove off without paying at the SuperStore gas bar, Kingston around 5:36 p.m. April 24.

Two youths were spotted pushing a wheelbarrow containing lumber along Highway 359 in Centreville. The complainant said they may have obtained the wood from new lumber tied up in bundles in the Bains Road area. Police patrolled, but the teens were gone.

Greenwood village workers left a 10-ft. culvert in the Fales River Subdivision with plans to install it along a walking trail. They left; when they returned, the culvert was gone.

A stolen vehicle was reported April 25 around suppertime at Prospect Road, New Minas. A caller said his wife’s Silverado was missing from the carpool parking area.

The driver of a four-door SUV left a New Minas gas station without paying for over $60 in fuel, reported at 6:30 p.m.

Street racing had one person up in arms April 25. A caller complained a black Civic two-door was racing with a blue Integra – both vehicles driven by teenage males – on Central Ave., Greenwood. Cst. Les Kakonyi says street racing has been an on-going issue in the area.

A woman who put $40 worth of gas in her car and left without paying said it was a case of forgetfulness. The woman’s plate number was noted and, when police went to her house, she told them she thought she had paid. She returned to the store to settle the account.

Loud music led to a complaint April 25 at an apartment along Highway 1, Cambridge. Police spoke with the owner, who agreed to turn the music down.

At Cavelle Terrace in Canning, a man stole a purse, then left along a path behind the home. The owner of the house was able to identify the crook and police located him a short time later. The 34-year-old turned out to be highly intoxicated and began struggling when police arrested him. He spent the night in lock-up.

A fight broke out April 26 in Greenwood outside a tavern. Police arrested one suspect and provided him with lodging in the Kingston RCMP jail. A group began fighting outside the same tavern at 2 a.m. but, en route, police were informed that fight was under control.

April 26 at 2:16 a.m., police received a report a cab driver responded to a call on Brow Mountain Road. When he arrived, about 10 intoxicated people threw sticks and a beer bottle.

A hat, glasses and unspecified bodily fluids were left in a vehicle parked in a driveway in Cambridge. The items served as evidence someone slept in the vehicle overnight.

Two unknown females peeked inside a woman’s window then laughed, pulled their pants down and bared their behinds when the woman looked out. The resident claims she saw teenagers, 15 or 16, both with long dark hair and weighing about 130 pounds; running away.

Three females under the age of 14 who appeared to be very intoxicated, all wearing black sweatshirts and jeans, were spotted staggering and falling down in North Kentville. Two people phoned to report the incident to police.

Three males about 13 or 14 years old were spotted in Greenwood pouring a liquid on a driveway, then setting it ablaze. Police found the boys, who admitted to playing with lighter fluid. They received a warning and police spoke to their parents.

At Lumsdon Pond park in Garpereau, about 10 teens in a camping park were seen burning tires. When asked to leave they were co-operative. The Wolfville fire deptartment distinguished the blaze.

Two male teens purchased eggs in a store and began throwing them at customers about 1:30 a.m. in Kingston. The egg-throwers were gone by the time police arrived.

A hay baler for sale parked on a front lawn along Highway 1, Auburn, was reported missing at 6:55 a.m. The owner has a suspect in mind.

Six noisy dirt bikes roused the ire of a neighbour on Jones Road, New Minas.

An unknown male wearing a cowboy hat and a striped shirt was said to be obstructing traffic in the middle of Commercial Street, New Minas April 27, handing out his business card to passing motorists. The man was upset about rising gas prices. When police arrived, he was asked to continue his activity from the side of the roadway.

A van and an ATV collided on Bay View Drive, Kingston. There were no injuries reported.

An intoxicated 69-year-old man who fell asleep in a convenience store parking lot along Highway 1, Aylesford, was arrested and brought to the drunk tank.

Two males attempted to steal copper pipes from a business in Wolfville, but the business owner thwarted the robbery and followed the suspects as they drove toward Kentville, making note of their license plate. Both suspects are known to police. There was not enough evidence to charge the men, but one of the suspects – a 37-year-old – was charged with breach of his curfew.

Acadia University security found three office rooms pried open. A file cabinet and desks were opened. Three wooden doors were damaged. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

Also at Acadia, two data projectors and a digital camera were missing from a locked cabinet after a break and enter at Willett House. There were no signs of forced entry.

A loud party involving alcohol on Riverview Drive, Wolfville, attended by four or five people, was brought to the attention of police.

Four hundred dollars’ worth of heating oil was siphoned from a 12-unit apartment building on Pleasant Street, Wolfville.

There were 11 false 911 calls, nine domestic complaints, three false residential alarms, one mental health call and nine false business alarms.
